17 May 2009, 10:21Networking eventI'm thinking to organise a networking get-together that has been done in big cities I've been living in like Tokyo, Singapore, London and I heard also in NY, Paris, etc.
It's done usually on a monthly basis in a different bar each time. At the door, you'll be asked to leave your business card and pay for a drink so that the bar would allow us to reserve some tables. Then for the drinks for the rest of the evening, well you can just order yourself
The business cards then are for having the e-mail to be included in the mailing list to communicate about the next event.
Let me know if you're interested to join and even a suggestion of the first venue since I'm quite new in the country. As for the date, am thinking on 22nd or 24th of Jun, say 8pm-ish.

Sounds like a good idea. Perhaps it can be held at the Cat Club, it's a bar (with restaurant ajoined) in Hollerich 18, Rue de l'Aciérie.
By the way, there will be an after work networking event next week on wednesday 27 at 18:30 at the Rive de Clausen (Salles des Machines). It costs 20 EUR entrance (1 drink included) and you can register at http://www.linkinlux.lu/inscription.php -

perhaps that could be an advantage, the fewer people there are, the better you get to know them when you meet. We are already 2 people, so that's already a beginning eh?

if you want we can meet wednesday 27 May at 18:30 in the "rives de clausen" (old town) on front of the 'salles des machines' or on Friday for coffee or dinner at the 'The Last Supper' on Kirchberg (33, Building K2 Ellipse, avenue JF Kennedy)

I would bei interested in this type of event also, quite surprised to be honest that there hasn't been a larger uptake from people.
There is already a networking event arranged for this evening through 'internations'. It's usually a decent bunch of people and around 10 - 30 turn up to most events.
You'd be more than welcome to attend I'm sure as they are always trying to increase the numbers.

Actualy I was going to suggest next wed as well, to be honest i thought ... today is tuesday (have no idea why???)

L-1728, near the Grand Duke's Palace. It has seating upstairs and is relatively reasonable for drink prices.Why don't we meet there next Wednesday 17th at 7.45pm?
