Australia: more than beaches and Russell Crowe?

I recently read a article that Australia offers one of the best quality of life in the whole world. I imagine this is because of the economy, safe cities and sunny climate.:-) Would you agree?

I would agree it is amongst it's safety compared to other countries, and our right to be and do what we want to do in terms of marraiges, jobs, travel, etc. We have access to desert, lakes, rainforest, and beaches. It IS isolated from other continents, preventing frequent overseas travel, but I have grown up here, travelled the world for 4 years, and now live in NZ, which is even more safe, laid back and relaxing (although not as hot as Australia).
Economy - great - I was living in Great Britain and I felt that the country doesn't look after you. The Economy in NZ is NOT good for wages, Australia has higher wages, and lower cost of living.
It's a multicultural country, and even though our cities are 'safe' compared to alot around the world, the larger ones - Melbourne and Sydney do have a considerable amount of crime. Thanks!
