Has Australia problem with minorities?

Posted in Australia forum 08 Sep 2010, 13:22

I wanted to ask some expat living in Australia what you think about how well are minorities accepted in Australia. Do you think the people nowadays are quite liberal and dont have problems with minorities? Or are there still some problems from time to time?

    hi Sarah,
I can't really say that I'm an expert in aussies 'national' psihology but I have noticed a one thing, this same very question repeats on forums, blogs, websites for international students.... and there are always some very 'clever' aussy that claims that there's no any racial problem and us, the expacts on the other side who have experienced it for so many times. They don't even have to talk but the way they react when hearing my accent is at least ofensive... I'm caucasion, so it s not obvious from the scratch and although my english is solid, I'm still getting 'the look' and left by a side... maybe it is happening everywhere, but is still a problem...
