Posted in Innsbruck forum 10 Jan 2012, 11:39

Hi guys!
I am Teresa, I am 29 years old. I received a job offer in Innsbruck but I don't know if I want to relocate there. I am scared about European job crisis. Can you give me any information about living and working in Innsbruck?
It is very important for my carrer.
Thanks a lot!
Teresa

    Dear Teresa:

I have been living in Innsbruck for less than a month, but my perspective as a newcomer is that it's a beautiful and very lively place to work and live. I'm glad to see that major events like the Youth Olympic Games are held here in Innsbruck. It's especially wonderful to see how a place can remain very much alive even during winter.

Innsbruck is surrounded by the Alps, so the views are stunning. There's also a lot of nature to explore if you're into hiking, skiing, etc.

Innsbruck, like many other cities across Europe, has great public transportation and the walking distances aren't too long. The Tiroleans also seem to be quite polite. All in all, I'd say that Innsbruck has a lot to offer and that one can have a good life here.

    Best of luck!

    Hi Teresa,
I am not sure I reached your inbox therefore I write you again here.

If you are scared about recession have a look at this:
    http://www.labnol.org/internet/countries-least-affected-by-e
    conomic-recession/8814/
A better choice within europe would be only (in order) Sweden, Netherlands, France, Belgium or England.
But this is not the only parameter we should discuss!!! You should have a look at GDP, unemployment rate and so on.
Quality of life in innsbruck is very high. Carreer opportunities depend on your job. You should be more specific if you want a serious answer which could influence your future.

Let me know which info you need and I'll try to help you.

    kind regards,

    Valentino
