IMPORTANT MESSAGE - STAY AWAY FROM REISSER APARTMENTS!!!!
Posted in Vienna forum 05 Jul 2011, 16:22
Hi everyone!
This message goes out to everyone who is looking for a place to stay in Vienna on a short-term basis. Horrible things happened to me with the company run by Astrid Reisser and I wanted to share my ordeal with the expat community so that nobody gets hurt the way I did. I rented a place from them for 9 months (October 2010 - June 2011) on Kalvarienberggasse 15, in the 17th district. The place itself was great and fully furnished etc. but the owners, Robert and Astrid Reisser, turned out to be a 100% dishonest and unreliable landlords! I kept the apartment in perfect condition the whole time as if it was my own. But Astrid still denied me my security deposit (300 EUR) back and on top of it, treated me the rudest possible imaginable way!! She wrongly argued that I broke the dryer in the laundry room even though the machine was working perfectly well and she herself saw it with her own eyes!! (not to mention the fact that the dryer is communal and there were other flats on my floor using it, so even if it was really broken, I wouldn't actually be the only one to blame). She planned this whole thing, actually: She knew I had to catch my flight back home in a few hours and would not have time to report her to the police before then. And so she thought she could comfortably steal from me...
I studied and lived in the United States for years as an academic and I’m not used to this kind of injustice at all, nonsense like this is very rare in America…
I will keep reposting this message until it gets read by the widest possible number of people. I know I will never get the security deposit back, but I can at least publicize what happened so that future tenants spare themselves the kind of unlawfullness I was put through. Thank you for your attention.

Reisser Appartments

Strange to read this about Astrid Reisser. I also lived in appartments at the same adress on Kalvarienberggasse 15, during 3 months February-April 2011. I have been looking for some good variant before travel to Vienna from Moscow via Internet. I asked her for appartments for one person, but with possibility to host all my family for 2 weeks(usually it doesn't work) and she agreed for this, without extra fee!
Moreover, she didnt't asked for deposit - she only asked for advance paying (30%). The rest i payed when i arrived. When I left appartments she even asked her hausemaid to see me a little, since i had a lot of luggage.
So my message is - don't miss Reisser Apartmens.
