Labor Court

Posted in Bahrain forum

To whom it may concern,
I have on going labor case in court right now.I was working in new salon for 5 months and my employer didnt give us any day off and we were working for morethan 12hrs.She didnt even give the contract and it was all verbal. When i started to demand our day off (which is i think our right) and the comission that she promised to u she was very upset with me.One day she sent her secretary to inform me that it was gonna be my last day to work and giving me 3 days to find a new sponsor. She terminated me that day without any notice. She didnt even give my 20 days salary. She also took my key in our acommodation so i couldnt come unside. But when i found the new sponsor she spoke with them and tried to discouraged them and asked too much money for my release. The other sponsor was interested to take me and willing to pay the amount, but my sponsor refused and she told her that shes not gonna allow me to work to other salon and she want to send me in Philippines. So i went to Ministry of Labor and complain against her and went to LMRA to apply mobility to be able to transfer my visa as she demand at first but she doesnt like to cancel my visa.I also tried to take my passport and all my things in accomodation but she didnt give.So i decided to file a Labor case against her.But when she learned that i filed a case against her,she went to Immigration and CID to report that i am Run Away. She even forced my former colleagues to witness against me in the court. And she also trying to convince some of my friends to catch me and report to them or report to the police. My question is,is it possible that when police catch me they can put me on the jail?I have a letter of Power of Attorney.
Hoping for kind response,

Sonia

Hi Sonia,i was under the same situation few months back but was fortunate enough to get out of it,the biggest blunder you made is that you have'nt got anything in writing & it was all verbal,i think LMRA should help you in getting a release, you still have a visa so you are not illegal in bahrain, police in bahrain is very lenient & wont put you in jail for nothing but on the other hand we all know how problematic some of the sponsors are, they have the right & the law of the land supports them,it has happened on numerous occasions that the employees have been declared runaway, how can you runaway when you dont even have your passport with you, best thing is to declare all the facts to the local authorities,if further more you need my assistance,i will be more than happy to assist you.

    Kind Regards
