University degrees in Belgium

Posted in Belgium forum 20 Dec 2011, 09:02

Hi all,
I'm preparing the documentation needed to apply for an open position at Université libre de Bruxelles.
I have to compile a CV template which includes this field:

Titres universitaires (2° et 3° cycles) + grades (par année) + institutions délivrantes
+ titre des travaux de fin de cycle.

I understand that 2nd and 3rd cycle degrees refer to Master's Degree and Ph.D., however I don't understand what does " grades (par année)" exactly means.

Can someone help me on this?

Thnaks in advance!

    Hi Andrea

This relates to the grading system in Belgian educational institutions.

Exam scores are on a scale from 0 to 100% and depending on your score window you'll get the following grades: (Dutch/French):

    Onvoldoende/Insuffisante: <50%
    Voldoende/Suffisante: 50-69%
    Onderscheiding/Distiction: 70-89%
    Grote onderscheiding/Grande distiction: 90-100%

    Hope this helps
