Elderly Focus day from Serve the City (STC)

Posted in Brussels forum 24 Jan 2012, 12:00

Project Chocolove was a great success on Saturday 21 January. STC Volunteers delivered chocolates and chatted with residents at 3 elderly homes in Brussels (St Gertrude, Cerisaie, Ursulines). The homes look after the residential care needs of over 350 people, and volunteers from Serve the City spread their good cheer to as many people as possible throughout the day. . The event was given a boost by an unofficial visit from their royal highnesses Prince Laurent and Princess Claire of Belgium.
Later in the afternoon a “rock-around-the-clock” dance event was held at EPEE (The European Partnership for Energy and the Environment) on rue Hute, and in the evening an After-party for the volunteers was hosted at “Roosters” bar in central Brussels.

A fantastic day was experienced by all who took part. The next Serve the City focus day will be dedicated to the Homeless on Saturday 18 February.
