Hi James!
Thanks so much for sharing such of valuable info in the forum. I'm wondering if it is really that complicated to find a job in DK without danish language skills? (like handstage and stuff)Thanks alot,

Work in Denmark

Hey Dan,
It took me about 3-4 months to find anything (and my girlfriend is Danish), I did the rickshaws for a while and that's when I was told about the website I mentioned. I emailed and got a job with showcrew (stage hands).
There are afew laboring, stage hand companies in Denmark but i'd say showcrew is your best bet to start with. Without Danish there won't be many other jobs going. Luckily there are alot of forigners over here so once you get your first laboring work along side other non Danes, you'll start to hear of other work going.
About a week ago (after being here for a year and a half) i managed to get salaried work with the Copenhagen Post, the English newspaper, 15,000dkk a month :) so it is out there (and I still don't speak Danish)
Hope this helps

Work in Denmark

Alright! congratz for your new jobs!!! I do check the Copenhaguen Post site quite often to check the latest news in town. Once I'll be there I hope can manage myself to get a jobs as you did. So, what about the employment office? does they help you some how to get a position? Or is just that they don't accept enquiries from foreigners workers? In this matter Is there any advantage of been a EU citizen?
Thanks again.

Cheers :) The employment office are useless unless you speak Danish.
It's much easier to get a work CPR number if you're from the EU, it's as simple as going to the tax office with your passport and asking for one (i think, it's been a while).
Also I know that the Cph post are looking for someone to write the weekly event and community listings, they don't pay but it might be a gateway into something better. It doesnt require you to be an amazing writer, just able to string a sentance together. Anouther option is hanging around the local forign pubs. I got a job working for the southern cross pub that way (i don't work there anymore though), but you might have to spend about a month visiting the same place before you get offered a position.
When are you coming? -

Hi again James! I didn't expect much from the employment office anyway... here, there is all the same. After some research I came to conclusion that Copenhague will be the best option so far, so I'm planning the be there sometime during this spring. I really appreciate your tips based on you personal experience. honestly I don't see myself as a journalist, however it does not sounds bad at all. I did got a response from showcrew however things seems to be kind of quiet right now. How hard it is to find a place to crash for a while? like shared apartment, room, or some sort of cheap accommodation. What are the best options?
Thanks a bunch!
Hit me back,
