Hello, I am a Englishman and new to this site , I am looking at at renovation in Corsica with some land, but wish to know apart from the purchase costs what other charges I am liable for?
Am I eligible for health care?
How much is electricity / water / sewage & rubbish rates, how do you go about getting them
Are there any good builders merchants in Corsica? similar to a B& Q store in england?
Many thanks for any info in advance, regards Graham

Television Show - House Hunters International

Dear Greyham,
My name is Melissa and I work for the American television show "House Hunters International".
If you're not already familiar with our program, I'd like to take this opportunity to tell you a bit about it.
"House Hunters International" has been running on the Home and Garden Network (HGTV) in the US and Canada for the past five years and is one of the network's highest rated programs. The show doubles up as a travel and real estate series, seeking to give viewers an idea of what types of properties are available in different parts of the world as well as teaching our viewers a bit about the landscape, food and lifestyle abroad. If you'd like to have a look at some of our shows, you can watch them on you tube, here:

We search for people who have moved abroad within the last two to three years and we reconstruct their house hunt. We findi a local estate agent who can appear on camera and show the clients three properties for rent or purchase. One of these homes will be the home they have already purchased/rented and live in, the other two will match their budget and wish list. The estate agent will take them round the three houses and at the end of the show, we reveal which property they bought and how they have decorated the apartment and settled into their new life abroad.
We film the main story in the new country over three days and then we fly the contributors back for the back-story in their country of origin for a one day shoot. Contributors receive a $1,500 stipend, some of which goes towards their flights to their city of origin and the rest of which is theirs to keep. Participation in the show is a lot of fun and a great way to document their life life abroad.
If you are interested in learning more, I would love to set up a time to chat with you on the phone and tell you more about the show. We look forward to filming with you in Corsica!
