    no need to believe

don't believe anything you read on the internet. anyone can be wrong. what works for you is what's right for you. everyone has a different degree of tolerance when it comes to racism. many are just happy to be in Germany no matter what. others are offended by the ignorant Germans.

and those who are stuck in Germany because of their spouses / jobs tend to be more bitter than the ones who can go back home anytime they want.

as for your question, I can only speculate that many Africans in Germany will tell you it's great over there. sure, great, but compared to where? do they have a choice to move to other countries? compared to some of the African countries with civil wars and dictators in power, Germany is a paradise. once you accept the reality of racism, I guess it's not that bad to live there. France could be tough too because they have a large population of Africans who are already francophone in their home countries. wherever there's a predominant immigrant community, racism towards that group is bound to happen. I guess my other advice is to avoid countries where people drink a lot and are often drunk. this is when troubles occur. as a visible minority myself, I just feel more comfortable in North America in general.

by the way, I do speak other languages including German. so I'm not whining about the Germans due to a lack of language skills.
