17 Sep 2009, 07:07Fiance is Italian - Visa help ? ? ?Am I the only one that is finding it extremely difficult to locate information regarding Italian Visa's other than Schengan visa.
MY SITUATION: My fiance is Italian. I am South African. We are looking to get married in Italy with the plan to live and work there as well. I know what documentation is needed to marry in Italy but need help with what visa is needed to work and live in Italian. Residency permit/visa maybe?
Any help, website or keyword I can google will be much appreciated.

Hi there, wow im in a similar situation however i am from New Zealand. By ringing different embassies it looks like there is conflicting information. The most important issue weve noticed is Italy's reluance to allow many foreigners to setup and work here. I think until you are officially married you're going to have to apply (in your home country) for a work permit in which you will already need a job setup in Italy, OR a working holiday visa. This includes filling out lots of forms and needing lots of documentation etc. Flick me an email if you have any more information, and if you have any questions
