Family Allowance

Hi
I moved to Lux to work at the beginning of July and had to leave the family behind (important school years for all of them). Does any one know how to go about getting the family allowance here? The kids are in France, it's a major head-ache dealing with two CAF offices So, if anyone has done it I would be obliged if they could share their thoughts/insites/ordeals

Hi Keith
You need to go to the family allowance office here in Luxembourg - just behind the Boulevard Royal.
You then need to complete all of the forms for all of your kids. You will also then need to arrange a letter from France stating that you no longer receive any child benefit there. You submit that along with your papers and you will start receiving the allowances here.
Don't hold your breath for a quick payment however as the process can last anything up to 1 year.
