General help appreciated!

Hello everyone,
Me and my friend have interviews for a job in Venlo, if successful we will obviously be coming over to live permanently. A few quesions:
are bills included in rent?
Of your salary how much is taxed?
Does anyone live near Venlo?! Whats the way of life like there?
What good websites are there for renting properties or renting rooms?
this is a big decision for us but the culture and way of life in britain is deteriorating and this a chance of a lifetime.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Many thanks
Mike

Hi Mike
Apartments in the Netherlands are usually excluding bills. However just ask the rental agents.
Due to the 30% tax ruling, lots of expats move to the Netherlands, see this link.

/30-rulingLook at the info the expat centre gives.
http://www.iamsterdam.com/en/living/expatcenter they help a lot.Hope you enjoy Holland. I lived in Eindhoven close to Venlo. Its a beautiful area ... lots of camping cites and great for a lazy Sunday cycle through the foresty areas.

Hello Mike: I hope you do good in the interviews. Venlo is a nice city and it is not too big. I live around 30 km from Venlo and I have moved to this area since Amsterdam is becoming too stressy for me.

Life isnt bad when you have a job, but after being made redundant for the third job in a row you sort of get annoyed regarding the state of the country and the economy. Thanks for the tip regarding the agency that is helpful and trust me britain is not the same as it was 10 years ago!
Re: faisal, i dont know how to get you a job, try google, do some homework! Im not an agency, thanks.

Hey Mike,
I live not far from Venlo (in Nijmegen) and I'd say it's a pretty nice area. Also quite calm, but people here are amazingly nice, smiling and friendly. And around there u can find some nice hills (which as u may know are not typical for flat Dutch landscape)
Good luck!

Yes, I wonder how did it go with their interviews in Venlo. I am still exploring the region. There are beautiful towns also in the German side: Kevelaer, Geldern and Kleve. The rest is farmland, but the food is really good and cheap.
