  Travelling in northern Norway (Tromso, Northern lights ect...)

  Hey all, I have two weeks to take off work before November. Im trying to gather some info on where the best places to see the Northern lights are. Alot of people have recommended Tromso which seems very nice from the wikipedia photos...
  Can anyone recommend any other places in northern Norway that are great viewing platforms to see the lights? Is anyone on here from Tromso that would be up for meeting at some point also?

  I see you got no response. So I didn't even bother starting a thread. I got to this forum looking exactly for what you were 2 months ago. Can you please share any info on the subject, if you can spare a minute... I'd appreciate it. I have read wiki articles and all but could really use some advice from someone who has been searching for 2 months already.  
  What about those Northern Lights? Did you find out where you can see them best? I understand you should keep away from big cities for the best visual experience. Also avoid a full moon they say... But forecasts are impossible to find. I'm thinking a nice empty field with dim restaurant or bar in the middle. A terrace... Something like that. What about you?
