I think you will be permanently banned from entering Saudi Arabia. This is like a penalty for you for leaving your employer without formal notice. This is much worse than going back to Saudi from an exit visa and returning back to soon without an NOC. You can try going back with a totally new passport and entering from another entry point other than your last exit point. I said you can try... there is no assurance. All the database of Saudi points of entry and exit for work migrants are interconnected, so there is really a chance that they can identify you even if you have a totally new passport.
But if your return visa has not yet expired you can still return, only thing is that you have to rebook the ticket which would be quite costly. From what I know, exit visa are only good for 2-3 months the maximum. You mentioned that you are on three months already so its pretty damn sure that its expired. Try to contact your employer if they can give you a new one. The date starts from date it was issued.
