Moving to South Korea for 1 Year

Posted in Seoul forum 08 Oct 2008, 08:20

Hi, I'm moving to South Korea for one year to teach English. I am a bit nervous, but I am really excited. My main concern is finding a place to stay. I would love to rent a room in an apartment from someone. I am a well-kept person that loves people, and I am not your sterotypical person. I love to make friends. It does not matter if my roommate is male or female. I have amazing male best friends as well as female friends.

Korea has a lot to offer for a short term (1year) if you are an active person and so much for over 2 years of you are passive. Finding places to stay is not diffciult, but many owners ask for an up-front payment (from 5k to 25k USD/ year). Many schools that hire antive speakers of English offer housing. Ask on http://www.korea4expats.com/forum-south-korea/ for details

but about a year ago, my friend from canada stayed in sorta hostel (single room) for 2 months.. and he paid only 350 USD/m.. it was near Yaksu station, which is the centre of Seoul (near Seoul tower) and I remember the rooms were quite clean and new.. it had been recently built.. and ppl there were nice.. they used to have some barbecue parties and stuff..If you're interested, i can give you more details.

    Moving to Seoul. Need Help

    Hi dear all
I am going to have an engineering job in Seoul. I would like to know the average salary in seoul for a chemical design engineer with 4 years experience.

Secondly, what is the cost of living in Seoul?

All in all, how much can be earned there, and how much can be saved?

I would be very thankful to you all for your help.
