Soon I'm moving to Madrid and wonder if anyone of you could give me some good advice what would be the best district to live there?

I heard the districts in the North would be "better" than those in the South, but I have no idea if that's true!
Any experience? -

Like Karl already said it really depends on what you're looking for...if you want to live in the city center you can expect a quite noisy neighborhood and prices up to 500 EUR/month for a single room!
Argüelles/Moncloa would be nice if you want to live near the university. You can also reach the city center within few minutes with the metro or walk about 15 minutes.Good luck with finding a home!

I cannot spend that much. But what you told about Moncloa sounds quite nice.
Does anybody know where I can find some good offers for rooms in a shared flat? (not only in the internet)Julia

02 Dec 2008, 10:24Hi Julia! If you're still looking for a room, why don't you just go to the university and have a look if there is a list with some addresses hanging out? And I think the internet still is the easiest way to find a room...try idealista.com, they have a lot of offers there!
Saludos

03 Dec 2008, 10:34Hi, I found a room with the help of a colleague! It's quite nice, but still very expensive...maybe I'll look for something else, something cheaper and closer to the center!
Thanks for those hints, Gonzalo!Julia

Well, you live in Madrid, it's normal that most of the rooms (even in shared flats) are quite expensive! -
