I am currently thinking about relocating to the Geneva area. One of the key questions I have is whether or not I could have a life there - I am single, 43, with a variety of interests.
What I'm reading is that it's rather difficult to meet people and make friends in the area. Would I be able to meet any like-minded, single people in the region to go out with / go hiking in the mountains / go to museums etc?
Anyone have any views / experience in this I would highly appreciate your feedback.
Thanks, Caroline.

27 Sep 2008, 14:39Hi Caroline! In general, the French-speaking Swiss are a little more open-minded than the German-speaking ones (at least so they say), but yes it is hard to get to know them.
The good thing is that you have a very large expat community in Geneva, with many people moving in and out all the time. So you will find other people who are looking to make new friends.
As for your interests, you can sure fullfill them there, the mountains are right next door ;o)
Good luck on your move!!
