    If you are not a EU national, you would require a Work visa to work in the UK. Under the current economic scenario, not many employers might sponsor a Work Permit for you when already there are so many brits on the benefits dole.
    You could however consider trying to apply for the Tier 1 (General) visa which allows you to go to UK without any work secured before hand and then land in the UK and search for employment. It also gives you the flexibility to choose which employer you want to work for.
