Why should I register?
The Just Landed Community is built upon trust and confidence between members. Some parts of the community can be seen by everyone, but only registered members can publish information and contact other people, participate in the forums, make friends, contact new people and receive messages from other members.
Is registration for free?
Yes, registration and membership at the Just Landed Community is free.
How secure is my data at Just Landed?
All information that you enter at Just Landed is stored exclusively on our dedicated servers housed in a secure data centre. We will never forward your profile or other data to any third parties. For more information on our data policy, view our Terms and Conditions and our Privacy policy.
How can I manage my privacy?
The Just Landed Community makes it easy to meet new people and share information with your friends. However, you might not want everyone in the world to see all information about yourself. In your Privacy settings, you can easily change how you want to share your information, including your profile, friends and contact details. You can also block other members from contacting you.
Why do you need to verify my email address?
We verify email addresses to make sure that someone can send you a message in reply to your post and to reduce fraudulent posts. We will never display your email address, give it to anyone or send you spam.
I cannot “Login”, why?
- The password you entered may not be the password you supplied when you registered. Click here to reset your password
- If you have just registered, you may not have activated your account. We sent you an email to verify your email address (check your spam or junk folder if you did not receive this email). You need to click on the link in the email to activate your account. If you did not get an email, try logging in again: you will see an error message with a link to resend the email.
I didn’t get a verification email
Sometime emails are moved to your Spam or Junk folder, try looking there.
Why do I have to fill in my name and a basic profile?
The Just Landed Community is a place to meet real people in whom you can trust and with whom you can share your experiences abroad. To participate in the community, you need to submit some basic information about yourself so other members know who they are talking to.
Why should I upload a profile picture?
So other members in the Just Landed Community can see who they are talking to. We encourage members to add a real photo to their profile.
How can I invite friends?
The more friends you have in the Just Landed Community, the more useful and fun it becomes. To grow your network, you can either invite other members to become your friend or invite people you already know to join Just Landed by sending them an email through the friend invite page
What does it mean to “say hello” to someone?
You can “say hello” to another member without writing a message. You can see if other people have said hello to you on your homepage.
Another member is annoying me, what can I do about it?
If another user sends you unacceptable messages, you can block this user from contacting you and report the content of the messages. To unblock a user again, go to Blocked users. Users that do not comply with the community rules stated in our Terms and Conditions will be blocked from accessing Just Landed.
What are communities and how can I change them?
When you register, you become a member of a local community (i.e. a country, city or region) so you can find relevant information and people. To change community, click the location change link at the top of the page. You can join multiple local communities and switch between them. If you visit another community, you will be asked whether you just want to join it.
I am receiving too many emails
Just Landed sends you emails when there is new information available for you (for example if another member sends you a message or says hello. If you want to receive less emails, you can change your Email alerts.
I see information in languages I don’t understand
On the top of the page, you can change your language settings. The main language is the language that you will see the site in. “Also show” determines which posts from other users you will see. As an example, you can set your account to only see posts in English and German.
How can I delete a post?
To delete something you posted (like a forum post), simply go to your post and click on the delete link next to it.
