I currently live in the UK but am due to move to Luxembourg at the end of the year. I intend taking my RHD Ford with me and registering it in Luxembourg. Can any one give me advice on a couple (well 3 actually) of issues:
1. Will I be able to pass the Control Technique with 'beam benders' on the headlights or will I need to have LHD headlamps fitted ?
2. Are winter tyres necessary (I will be living in Mamer and working in Capellen) or will 'normal' tyres suffice ?
3. Just how difficult is it to register and insure a RHD drive in Luxembourg ?
Regards

I'm not sure about Q1 but I've got friends who registered their UK car here with the same lights.
2. Winter tyres are not mandatory but you need to have good thread on the tyres. You'll be fine on summer tyres except there are normally 3-5 days in the winter when it's safer to use the bus.
3. You'll need the car's original conformity certificate. You need to pass the CT - its worth having the car checked over before this at a local garage who know what bits are tested. You'll pay around EUR 200 to register it & get the license plates, 20 for the CT. Insurance varies depending on the engine size etc, and you can usually pay monthly, quarterly. You can get quotes from le Foyer, la luxembourgoise or AXA.cheers
