Hey, everyone! I'm student in S. Korea's Sogang University where I study political science and I want to share some experience with you and information I've learned.
Recently a representative of New Politics Alliance for Democracy, which is I guess the main oppositional force in S. Korea, visited our course with private lecture on international relations. And he gave us a lot of interesting information. He told that S. Korea is under heavy pressure from Washington because USA demands to fulfill all it requirements like imposing sanctions against Russia as the most critical issue these days. For the moment government of S. Korea resist and Washington started threatening S. Korea with banning country's production inside US and excluding S. Korea from US NMD program. All these threats were told to Ahn Ho-Young, S. Korea's ambassador to US, during his meeting in the White House with US political elite. Our lecturer said that now S. Korea can't be a truly democratic state until it receives threats and can't act as an independent state and I guess he is right.
I hope that was interesting and educational because it's not easy to find information about S. Korea's political life from sources that are not associated with country's government.

yes, that's why US has put 30,000 military troops in Korea for no good reason. They use the excuse that it's to protect South Korea from an invasion from the North. What a load of LIES. The North will never invade the South knowing they will accomplish nothing. There is no need to have 30,000 US troops and so many US military camps in korea. It's clear they have other plans why they are in Korea.
The US has helped Korea a lot true, but most of it was for hidden motives. Since US helped Korea to build itself up to become an economic powerhouse, they always make Korea remember that they are owned by the US and they owe everything to the US. So South Korea will always be the B*tch of US because without US, Korea would have been nothing. This is the sad reality. Many koreans are living blindly thinking they are sovereign but reality is, US will always bully Korea to do whatever they want. That's why they have 30,000 troops here who just go out at night, party at clubs, create problems in towns and abuse korean girls and use them for sex, etc. American military needs to leave Korea now. Korea's military is able to defend itself from the North if something should happen (which it wont). It will only happen because the Americans will provoke the North and start something bad (like a war, a reason to justify their actions to invade North Korea). I generally have a lot of respect for the US and what they do to help around the world, but I think the shadow side of the US is problematic. Generally, the American people mean well and want to help countries struggling with human rights etc., but the gov't has other plans to make sure they have power and hold the power in the region by occupying themselves around the world and in your countries.
