31 Dec 2008, 20:30Hey all, I have just joined this site as I am beginning work in Geneva in 5 days.
Firstly, I am trying to upload a photo of myself, under 6mb and a jpeg file however the system is not letting me, please can someone advise?
Secondly, is there anyone in the Vaud canton who wants to meet up and go for a drink?
Like some of you my partner is swiss and so I secured a job in Geneva to spend more time with her family. I love the Swiss values on families and Swiss food, weather and skiing on the door step but I dont know anyone so need to establish a network and social base.
Drop me a line if you want to chat and arrange a drink or something?
Andy

16 Feb 2009, 01:40Dear Iris,
I have recently moved to Basel (last 17th December) for a job. What I can tell you is that you won't regret it. There are all museums you would like to have, the architecture is overwhelming, the people is certainly well educated and mostly kind. The atmosphere is just fantastic, very international. There are many activities to do and there are a lot of cities nearby (CH, DE, FR) where you can go somewhere else for the day.
If there is anything else I can tell you pls let me know.
Brgrds, J

15 Mar 2009, 16:21I just moved to Basel for a job in the pharma industry.
I have been living in Singapore for the last 4 years and am looking forward to live in the triangle of France/Germany/Switzerland.And of course I would like to make some new friends here :-)
Is there anything like a regular expat get together or afterwork meeting in Basel at a bar or something? In Singapore there was something called the "Wednesday night drinking club" which sounds very alcoholic but actually was just a great opportunity to get to know new people...
Hope to find out soon. Looking forward to meeting some of you!
Rgds,

17 Mar 2009, 15:41Hey there,
I have been living in the South of France for the past 3.5 years but due to a career change I will move to Zurich in Mai and therefore I wanted to use the opportunity to introduce myself here.
I would also like to discuss some of your experiences but off course I would also be open for a drink or dinner with new friends...
Take care,
AlexPS: My pic will follow within the next days...

03 Apr 2009, 08:03Hi. My family and I have been in BAsel Switzerland for one year. I belong to the American Women's Club as well as Centerpoint and find that they are excellent places to meet people with similar backgrounds and find support and information. I have enjoyed these groups very much.
If you are new to Basel, I can tell you that there is much to enjoy, and I am learning new things about the place every day.
Hope you all enjoy your experience here as much as I am. The heart of Europe with wonderful day excursions all around you. That is Basel!
