Can I come on a free(Azad) visa to Saudi Arabia?

I have recently been told by one of my friend that Saudi government has cracked down on Azad visa holders and is sending them back. Is that the case? I am a electronics engineer and plan to come on a Azad visa. Would it be safe if I come on free visa and search jobs over there...?

    Do not invest a big amount on azad visa, if there is an agent involve than even dont think of it .
    Most time it takes 3 months to get iqama from your kafeel after that you can start searching for jobs and there are many other terms that your current kafeel should give you release papers .
    Sometime kafeel are in red category and they will not provide you iqama and you will end up in trouble.
    Usually kafeel take benefit of situation and demand big amount on giving release letters.
    Apart from these there are many other disturbances in coming on azad visa and searching for a job.

    My suggestion to you is to try your luck without a azad visa.

    Azad or Free visa as the name suggests is the visa under which you are free to work in Saudi Arabia under any Kafeel. Legally, there is no such visa and I don’t suggest anyone to get this visa. I have listed down all the problems you may face by having Azad Visa in this link.

    i am from India, my wife got job in an university. the university z giving family visas.will you ls tel me that can i do job or business over there with that visa or not?

    or what else i can do?

    So the thing is that I have bought an azad visa and its come today, and now I see here that the Saudi gov has launched operations against azad visa owners. So no what can I do, is there still any chance of getting a job???

    Don't buy Azad visa it is totally useless because Saudi government has launch big operation against azad visa holders so be careful and try to see if there is any company visa that suites you
