Bank account in Spain

Hey!
Soon I'm going to live in Madrid for a time, and I wonder what would be a better thing:
open a Spanish bank account or get me an account in Germany from which I can get money in foreign countries without paying for it? but mostly there is a certain amount you have to pay if getting money outside Germany...or are there bank who handle it in a different way?!?

  Yes, I think you only need these two things to get one...but it can already be a long, exhausting way till you get your NIE...at least that's what I heard!

  What do you need to open a spanish bank account as a foreigner? Only a NIE and Passport?

  Hi Julia,

  I think it would be a better thing for you if you'd get a Spanish account. In case you'll have a job and get paid, you will need one anyway!
