Impossible to pay a rent in Paris!!!

تم وضع المناقشة في منتدى باريس

How can a city be so expensive! Even the smallest flats are too expensive... How do you do when you work there? Do you take a flat in the suburbs? I heard they are really dangerous for people... Don't know what to do! I get this amazing job offer but I don't have so much money laid up so I really need to find something cheap!
Help me please!

    Hi
I don't recommend the suburbs in the north of Paris but the other suburbs are ok, it is much more cheaper and transportation system in Paris is not bad :-)
I think that if you want to live in Paris, you should try to share an appartment. It is a very usual practice in Paris and you can have a lot of choice, for exemple, I pay 400euros and I live near Montparnasse... Go to google and search "colocation". If you are a girl, be very careful and only contact "mixte" (girl & boy) colocation or girl, as sometimes there are some males that want to share the same room with you, so you can be very disaponted when you visit the apparment.
If you need more information, do not hesitate and contact me :)

    Hola
    Saludos,
    Juanjoséap.

i' have a flat in Paris in 19eme arrondissement near to Buttes chaumont et la Vilette musique; Yes it's expansive but it's good too, it's my appartment.

Suburbs can be dangerous , it depends where, don't go in 93 like Sevran, Villepinte, alnay Sous Bois or 95 like Sarcelle, there are quiet suburbs and dangerous suburbs, i think everywhere is like that!

I can give you some advice if you like but tell me where is your job?

Oh and also Paris is really small as a city with a big density of people per square meters. Most flats within Paris are in old buildings. So that's the way we live : in small flats. But you'll notice that the majority of them are quite charming, well-equipped and comfortable to live in. Don't focus so much on the size, look at the overall look/feeling and equipment and the area they're located.

That's the way we do it here...
We share flats, or move in with a boyfriend/girlfriend so it's cheaper.
Also it's really extreme and stupid to say so peremptory that ALL suburbs are "really dangerous for people"...WTF?!...
But i wouldn't like to live in the suburbs because i like my cultural events and night life and i like it to be easy enough to go back home after nights out and not to bother about having to get back home all the time, or sleeping at friend's every night like a free loader.
So if you're interested, get in with us we're building a flatshare in the 11th/18th or 19th district. We're Japanese/French/Irish and young professionals and cool :)
Either way, best of luck and start being a bit optimistic lady, you'll find a place.

    Check pap.fr / appartager, colocation.fr etc...

Or if you really want your own place that bad well do the flatshare thingy temporarily, (that way you'll get rent bills paid in Paris, always good for an application file) and if your job is that good and pays well, after a few months try to move in on your own with a proper file and all the documents necessary through an agency?...or directly with an owner (your best bet).
