The Emigrant Disco

After 2 sell out nights the Emigrant Disco is back. A Christmas party featuring the best Irish DJs & live acts living abroad alongside friends who still do their thing in Dublin.

The Emigrant Disco returns for it’s 3rd instalment on Friday 23rd December.

T.E.D was conceived around the time of the already much discussed exodus of creative talent from our shores post economic crash of 2008. Whilst we’re told we’re well on the road to recovery and the mass exodus has slowed to a trickle, the thousands who return late December still provide a platform for collaboration & celebration - the rare occasion that we’re all together for a few hours dancing like it was 2008.

Musically however it’s far from a nostalgia fest. This year we have David Kitt who’s roused and stirred this year in his New Jackson guise. His new solo album ‘Yous’ will be released on new year’s day but for The Emigrant Disco he’ll be concentrating squarely on the dance floor. John Daly; one of our most respected producers has just released a new album under his ‘The Smoke Clears’ moniker and will be playing a live set for us on the 23rd.
Another live performance comes in the shape of Derry born London based producer/writer Shocko. We’ll also have a a DJ set from one of Dublin’s most skilled; Handsome Paddy. We also have our man in Syria; Calvin James who’s recently made a welcome return to both Dublin & to DJing. Also playing is Dave McDonogh who is a London based Irish DJ and promoter (regularly putting on some of our favourite acts including DJ Fett Burger, DJ Sotofett and Brian Not Brian). Rounding off our line-up will be John Mahon (Telephones, The Locals) and Jon Averill who runs the Shock World Service parties, label and podcast in London.
