I have lots of South African friends, and am travelling to Cape Town/ Paarl area later this year. I started learning Afrikaans this week, just on some of the sites on the internet, but its not going well, trying to remember all the vowel sounds and G's and R's are particularly hard for me to speak. If anyone has any advice i would appreciate it. I am only a couple of days in, and i know learning a completely new language takes time, but i worry that I will be able to read and write in it, long before i am any good at speaking it! lol x
