Movin to Sharjah, and I have a few Q's

First, a cell phone. Should I wait and buy one there? Can I use an iPhone in Sharjah? Can I use a Blackberry. If yes to either, do I need to purchase it there. I plan on travelling a lot out of the UAE, so can I get a contract for a phone in the UAE with intl access?

Next, electronics in general. I know it is a 220 country, so all my American/Panamanian toys are kaput. What are the prices like for things like an iMac, a netbook, a video camera? I have heard that the UAE, Dubai in particular has great prices. yes or no?

Clothing...I will need a new wardrobe. Mine is both way too casual and my Hawaiian shirts probably won't pass muster. I have heard that there are many many tailors there. I am larger (make that taller) than your average guy, so can I get nice clothes, (from passable streetware to business suits) made by a tailor at a reasonble cost?

Food. I am talking about groceries...what is the price of a kilo of hamburger? A loaf of fresh bread? A dozen eggs? Milk? (and can you get FRESH milk in Sharjah or just the boxed stuff with a million year shelf life?) Rice? Anything else, please add to my list.

I am not a "drinker" in that sense, but I do enjoy a cold beer now and then. If I go to the police and get my liquor license, go to Dubai or Ajman and buy a case, what will it cost me and can I purchase a decent pilsner or just bitters?

Baseball....ah forget it. Is it even on TV? What will cable cost me and is the MLB channel available?

Bookstore? Anything in Sharjah? Expensive?
