24th Annual Segundo de Febrero Commemoration with Guest Speaker Jose Angel Gutierrez

Calling all Chicanos, Mexican Americans, Mexicans, and others that want to learn about the atrocities that the United States committed against Mexican Americans after the Mexican American War!
Amistades, Inc., the grassroots Latino led and Latino serving non-profit agency in Arizona that helps Latinos thrive is collaborating with the University of Arizona (Department of Mexican American Studies) and Jose Angel Gutierrez to celebrate Segundo de Febrero.
Collectively known as the 'Four Horsemen" of the Chicano Movement were Jose Angel Gutierrez, Cesar ChAvez, Reies López Tijerina, and Rodolpho 'Corky' GonzAles. Dr. Gutierrez is the only living member of the Four Horsemen and has made extensive contributions to the Chicano Movement and Latinos for the past 60 years!
Join us on February 2nd, 2022 at 5:30pm at the University of Arizona as Jose Angel Gutierrez speaks about Segundo de Febrero and the Chicano Movement. Dr. Gutierrez is also the author of numerous books and will follow his presentation with autographs and a book signing.

Segundo de Febrero commemorates the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which ended the U.S. Mexico War in 1848 and gave birth to the Mexican American community in this country. The geo-political boundary between Mexico and the United States, as we know it today, was established by the Treaty.
