Dunfermline Charity Gin Festival 6th & 7th May

THE countdown has begun to Dunfermline’s second charity Gin Festival – which is being launched to provide a refreshing tonic for the fund-raising endeavours of the Rotary Club of Dunfermline.
The organisers are mixing a heady cocktail of gins, rums, beer, wine and prosecco, live music and DJ over two party nights on 6th and 7th May in the Glen Pavilion in Pittencrieff Park.
"The festival’s main objective is fund-raising for local charities," Rotarian Sean Doran explained. "Some of our members were involved in organising the first joint beer festival between Round Table and Dunfermline Rugby Club in 2004. Given the success of that event over the years, we had our first Gin Festival in 2019 prior to Covid restrictions which was a great success which we hope to repeat this year again.
"We will feature over 40 Scottish gins, mainly from small distillers whose labels are not available generally in pubs and supermarkets but we will also have available some rums, beer, prosecco and wine for those non-gin drinkers who might also wish to come and enjoy the party atmosphere."
Live music will be dispensed by once again returning band ‘The Copycats’ on both nights. The band will play two sets each night with a DJ providing party tunes before, between and after the sets.
The £20 ticket buys entry to the event, a stemmed commemorative gin glass to keep, a complimentary first drink, 56 page programme with full details of all the available gins and live entertainment.
Rotarian Sean added "Our event is designed to be different from most other gin festivals due to the atmosphere we hope to create by the live music, DJ and the sheer numbers we hope will attend.
"The Glen Pavilion can officially hold up to 800 people each night. Online ticket sales are going fantastically well."
