Posted in Bahrain forum

I got a job in Bahrain they are offering 1400 BHD.
Is 1400 BHD is sufficient to have a decent life in recent times?
Please suggest.

1400 BHD is a lot. It's the equivalent of 14000 UAE Dirhams. 1 BD = almost 10 AED.

Many people get just around 140 BD. though European nationalities get more than 700 BD. Previously the minimum salary for europeans was that much. It would be a good idea if the country set a minimum wage for Asians too, that would cover the cost of a decent living there.
one- br apartment costs approximately 200 BD so if you're getting just 140 BD, either accomodation should be included or you'll have to share a room with others. You should compare your current situation and your need for employment as well as the other possibilities that working in a Gulf country opens up when deciding whether to take a job with a low salary. 140 may be low but if you're in dire need of a job and the work is decent, then it's not bad. I believe it's the average wage for Asians.
