Question on Danish citizenship / residence and work permits

Posted in Denmark forum

I am sure I am well beyond the point of taking any action on this, but my grandmother, who is still living, is a Danish citizen, and it is my understanding that my mother would then be a danish citizen by birth. My question is, although my mother never pursued her Danish citizenship is there anyway this can help me in attempting to even apply for a visa or work permit much less citizenship in Denmark? It is slightly unfortunate as I spent most my summers in Copenhagen has a child and just now, at age 29, do I have life together enough to try to make the move there, but I am not sure how realistic it is. I am applying for graduate school there next year and plan on trying to stay permanently after my education but I did not know if my heritage could help. If anyone has any useful information on the subject I would greatly appreciate it!
