    Official site for this?

    Hi,

I am British/Australian. My partner is Australian and has residency/working rights through marriage to me. His prospective employer can't find official information in French to support what we know (and what Charlotte said here) about working in France. They're asking that he organise a carte de séjour before January so they can sign a contract with him.

Can you please point me to an official French site that says exactly this? That way I can show them what they need to know.

(I'm not having much luck finding it myself as my French is limited and I don't think I'm searching for the right keywords).

    My understanding is that:
    a) The carte de séjour is something which will make life easier for us, but is not required. It's also going to take a while to get (which will take too long).
    b) We can both live/work here without getting a carte de séjour.
    c) We need to declare residency within 3 months (not the same as getting a carte de séjour).
    e) Essentially, he has the same working rights as I do, which is the same rights as any EU national, which is the same as any French person in France. So, he should just be able to sign a contract now with no fuss. Right?

    Thanks in advance!

    Ange.
