Hi - I have a job offer to transfer within my company and I will be applying for a residency visa at the consulate in NYC. I will be moving to Munich, but I am a bit confused. Do I need to have a residential address BEFORE applying, or can I receive the visa and then find housing once I arrive? I was thinking of staying in an Air BnB for a month while looking for housing.
Thanks.

You don‘t need a residential address for getting a work visa.
Having a temporary place while looking for a longer-term one is a good idea, but pleace note that you have to register that, too, as your residence within a week of moving in.
