    Nice post Y.T.
If called Freedom and liberty for all ….far from perfect and ever evolving.
The great experiment: Can man govern himself?

Few things are as liberating as independent transportation .
The US is a huge wild country and people are not packed like sardines into tiny cubbyholes like in Europe, taking the same buses / trains to go the same places day in and year out.
Germany sports a 2000, - drivers license, months in driving school, huge taxes and fees and extravagant gas prices to keep people from driving , curtailing their mobility.
The majority doesn’t use public transportation by choice but because they have.

Compare that to a 40,- drivers license you can make in one day and relatively low gas prices in the US.
You can buy any rusted heap, as long the lights and brakes work you got your 20, dollar safety check.
Compare that to the German safety check /Tuef (very expensive) where the government can decide FOR YOU that your car gets junked .
Permission to drive and owing car in Germany is an expensive bureaucratic fiasco compared to the US.
Making life very cumbersome for the average working class German by degrading them to dependents and stripping them of choice.
And a from of Government sponsored class warfare.

IMHO, this lack of independent mobility in Germany is a huge contributing factor to the tunnel vision, small mindedness and xenophobia toward foreigners or anything you don’t encounter on a bus route.
    It’s an incredibly limiting lifestyle
