    Berlin

My friend living in Berlin has just had her apartment rent raised. The law in Germany says the landlord can raise the rent by 20% every 2 years. But really you need to try and get a warm rent based apartment. Her rent is 800 for a 2 bedroom in a good area. Until recently it was just 600 for the whole apartment but heating etc was extra and they have to pay whatever the landlord say's as there are not individual controls for every apartment. Not sure if 1500 is a good wage it seems low, but in Berlin unemployment is high and the salaries are lower than other cities. Im trying to decide what city to move to and until recently it was Berlin. Now Im focusing on Munich and Cologne.
