I was offered a contract from a company in Kuwait. The salary would be 1000KD a month. I would like to live comfortable as well as save a little money at the same time. I was wondering if that was a good salary to have?

Thanks, very different opinions, may be it can't be predicted.....here some people told me that it is around 2-3 months (who knows).... Is it necessary to have work permit to start work!? I suppose that what kind of visa will be issued depends on the employer because actually he starts the procedure ......

Congrats on your offer and welcome to kuwait if you come..the salary is good.the cost of living is kinda expensive depending on where u decide to live..expect to pay between 300 - 400,for a nice furnished apartment in a nice area where u have access to supermarket and stuff,otherwise its cheaper unfurnished.but then u have to buy some.......as for a car u can rent brand new for another 200 plus,insurance included..so ur taken care of in the event u have accident...hey good look and hit me up if u need another american friend here..i know alot of places and things...

Your 1000KD per month is approx 40,000 USD (depending on the exchange rate at the time) In Kuwait you can live quite comfortably depending on your expectations though. I would say that the cost of living is less than parts of the US. Especially the larger cities in the US. You do not have to pay for electric or gas here, being American you would still have to pay US taxes although Kuwait is a tax free zone. Depending on your job you may not need a car since taxi's are good value. Overall it is a good place to live, the people are friendly and usually helpful. Summer is very hot and winter can be colder than you would expect.
