Is it true that you can't use any VoIP services in Kuwait? How do expatriates talk/see their friends abroad?
Website censorship of a lot of social sites, such as Facebook, puts a lot of burden on the social networks of expats who move to Kuwait. How do you cope?
To me it seems unfair to ask expatriates who have lived abroad and are used to certain freedoms to be thus restricted.

I have downloaded skype at least two times in kuwait in two different laptops. it works perfectly alright. in addition i have another VOIP software on my laptop, which i also use quiet often. i use Zain 3G card. i also explore facebook quiet frequently n have not faced any problem so far. i agree with Alice that yes they do have restriction for surfing porn sites n some sites with that kind of contents can come under scrutiny n restrictions.

we are using wataniya as our internet provider..
we are using skype also.. and magic jake..

That's funny because I couldn't even download Skype - it says: Access denied. I'm using Zain, who is your internet provider?

Hi George,
I have been using skype and never had any problems with it. Sometimes the internet is a little slow though. You can even use magic jack and get an US number. So calling is cheaper.
Facebook works fine, too. As well as the other social networks I use.
The only thing they censor is porn sites and download websites as far as I know.Hope that helped
