Registering to live in Netherlands?

Posted in Netherlands forum

Hi! So I get you have to register at the town hall of wherever you're moving to, but what if I land in Rotterdam, register, hate it, and want to move elsewhere? Do I have to register again or how does that work?

    Hi Jenny,

If you land in Rotterdam, you can just register there at the town hall. Now I am sure you won't hate it as it is a very fun city :-) but if you do decide it gets to windy and you want to move to another city in the Netherlands, then you can just go to the website of the town hall to "unsubscribe" yourself. Or go to your new city townhall and tell them you are moving from Rotterdam, and then they will usually be able to register and deregister you as well.

It is important to update your address with the townhall as for example info from the Tax services and other goverment related services will be send to your registered address.

If you have any other questions just let me know!

Hope you enjoy your stay in NL :-)

    Cheers,
    Marc.
