I don't have idea about Sohar but you can find detail in http://www.dubizzle.com.
I live in muscat i am giving you some idea about accommodation. Accommodation is depends on area i live in Al-Khud and i am giving 300 for 2 room + 2 bathroom + 1 tv launch and kitchen.
Food is very very cheap here and about cinema it's depends :D
