Considering Terceira for Retirement

Right now, my wife and I are spending 10 days near Angra. I lived here many years ago while my parents taught at Lajes AFB for 17 years. Now that we're retiring, we are seeking information about settling on this island.

Any information about the expat community, the logistics of such a resettlement etc. would be helpful.
