Is it possible to leave your house vacant for 6+ month on Azores?

Good morning, Azores,

We are thinking of retiring on Azores island but our kids live in the United States. We might visit them from time to time. I'm wondering how I can the house in shape if we choose to leave the island for 6+ months? The humidity on the islands is about 70-80% year round and it is ocean climate. I'm afraid the interior might deteriorate quickly without proper care.
