We have this crazy idea to relocate to the Sao Miguel. I work remotely in IT, so I'm not tied to a particular location. My wife is surgical nurse, though. So, the main question is if she has any chances to find a job in her field. Without her working, we can rely on about 2.5K EUR per month. The second question is if this is going to be enough for a family of four - two adults, and two pre-school kids.

Hello. You face the same problem as my wife and I. To obtain licensing in Portugal, you must be fluent in the language. However, your wife may wish to retool to a digital nomad existence, maintain her nursing license in your current country, and contract out her digital tele-medicine services. I do not know if the 3 hr time difference would be advantageous or a hindrance. Good luck.
