I want to get a smaller bed for my bedroom as there are space constraints.

You should get queen sized beds if space is an issue. They are much smaller than the regular beds but big enough for two people to sleep. You could get one with a headstand to make it comfortable to sit. You could also team it up with bedside tables if there is some space. It will complete the look.
