how to check visa status( stamped or not) by passport no.

i have only my passport no. i do,t know my visa no. is it possiable to find out as i mention in my subject. let me clear to you my query. i had given my passport to one guy for to do job in saudi arabia last five month ago. he is always saying it is in process .before few days he said to me it is stamped.but till my passport is not with me. for this reason i would like to know may be he is cheating ......Regards
