    Dear friends, have patience!

    MoFA's processing is delayed due to unprecedented huge number of applicants in view of changed professions after Nitaqaat. If you follow the procedures correctly and in time, you will get the visa in time. Those who intend bringing their family should apply at least three months' in advance. The visa issued by MoFA will be valid for 3 months for stamping and the stamped visa has 30 days validity.

    I applied for my wife and daughter on 21 Jan and did the CoC activation in two days. Within a week MoFA asked for verification of documents (مراجعة فرع الوزارة بجده بتذكرة المراجعة وأصل الطلب و الإقامة وصورة منها) which I did on 29 Jan. Immediately the status was changed that MoFA has received all requested documents (تم استلام الطلب). It remained the same position until 03 March afternoon when it was changed to الطلب تحت الاجراء which meant my request was under process. After an hour, the visa was finally issued (مستند تأشیرة - الرجاء طباعة المستند ومراجعة ممثلیة المملكة لإصدار تأشیرة الدخول). I praise God for timely issuance of the visa because the visit was for specific dates for attending some urgent need in the family of my son.

    This detailed information is given to help other friends who are eagerly waiting for issuance of visit visa for their dear ones. You must do what is required and wait patiently with prayer. Prayer brings victory. You will get the visa in due course if you have followed the steps correctly. I will repeat the steps for clarity:

    Visit the website: https://visa.mofa.gov.sa/FamilyVisitVisa/create
    (Except the figures and name of the visitors, all other information should be filled in Arabic. Take the help of someone who knows Arabic to fill in all the information correctly)

    On the first page, check 'I agree' and continue..

    رقم التأشيرة (Ten digit visa number on your passport through which you have entered Saudi Arabia)
    اسم صاحب الطلب (Your name)
    الجنسية (Your nationality)
    المهنة (Your latest profession as in the Iqama)
    الهاتف (Your telephone number
    العنوان (Your physical address)
    الجوال (Your mobile number)
    رقم الإقامة (Your Iqama number)
    تاريخ الانتهاء (Date of Iqama expiry)

    اسم صاحب العمل (Your sponsor/Company's name)
    رقم السجل (Company's ID)
    المدة باليوم (Duration of visa requested, in days)
    مبررات الزيارة زيارة عائلية (Reason for visit)

    الاسم (Name of visitor)
    الجنسیة (Nationality)
    الدیانة (Religion)
    العمر (Age)
    صلة القرابة (Relationship)
    جھة القدوم (Name of city where you will be getting the visa stamped from the Saudi Consulate)
    الجنس (Sex of the visitor - Male or female)

    After the form is accepted, it will give you the print out option. It will show the 7 digit application number and date with a bar code this way:
    رقم الطلب: 1111111

    یرجى طباعة الطلب وتصدیقھ الكترونیا من الغرفة التجاریة او جھة العمل

    and showing all the information of the person your applying for visit visa. Print the form, sign it yourself at the appropriate place (طالب الزیارة) and get it signed by the company representative who is authorised at the Chamber of Commerce. Then get the form attested and activated by payment of SR25. Once it is activated, it will show the message

    Example is for Jeddah (غرفة جدة)

    2014/xx/xx تم التصدیق على الطلب: ( 7160711 ) بتاریخ

    If the activation is not shown in a day or two, you have to approach the Chamber of Commerce office to activate it. In a few days (normally within 10 days approximately) you will get a message مراجعة فرع الوزارة بجده بتذكرة المراجعة وأصل الطلب و الإقامة وصورة منها or similar from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to show/submit relevant original documents. Normally it the original attested application only and they will verify your original Iqama and take a copy thereof. Very rarely they ask for other documents. When you visit the MoFA office, please take with you copies of your passport, Iqama, copies of passport of those intended visiting. Once these are submitted, the status of application will change to confirm that they have received what they have requested for (تم استلام الطلب). You can keep on checking to see if there is any development. If the system is not busy, in a few days the message الطلب تحت الاجراء which means your request is now under process. The visa should be ready the same day or the next day. This message will appear :

    مستند تأشیرة

    الرجاء طباعة المستند ومراجعة ممثلیة المملكة لإصدار تأشیرة الدخول

    However, if at any point if you get this message: الوزارة عن تحقيق الطلب it means your application is rejected.
