Rent in Jeddah?

Hello from California,

I'm expecting an offer to work in Jeddah, have struggled to find information about rental rates for half-way decent compound apartments, 1br or studio. (I'm not looking for elite, luxury living, just a good, middle-ground place in a Western-oriented compound.)

    Most of the apartment/building here not well design+ not smart building and there no bachelor apartment like in world wide (there a bachelor apartment but for single male and it's in bad shape, I have my worst experiment ever in it), I have been searching for studio for over years now and I can find one!, the rate depended in how many room you want and area, the average nice area 1bedroom 1dining room and facility from 15000rs/yearly and relay you find a month paid (some if them accept 3month advance paid and most of them 6month or 12month), best solution is to search for apartment near to your work place and stay for month or so in Furnished Apartments until you steal up (rate 1500-2000rs/monthly) , new building most of them has to many room so the price will be high and compound don't even think about it (studio +50000/yearly)..

    from my research for a family apparent(2-3 Broom),I think if you want a standard as in USA,you should forsee around SR100,000 per annum.
    Its difficult to get accurate info on net since the response to queris is poor.Maybe the houses are rented through the consent of employers.
    Be careful while negotiating our benefits/salary.Most employers try o give you the impression that housings very cheap and offer very small housing allowance.From the little experience I have had negotiating my package,the employers try to cheat you into accepting very low salary.Nut experienced professionals ahould take care and not fall ino the trap due tO lack of information.
    I was offered asalary of SR100000,pr annum for a lob position of great responsibility.i old him to go to hell and get a bloke.
