In Malaga area there are a lot of properties that owners are renting all year around so it wouldn't be such a difficult task to find one for yourself. Especially if you start renting September-October when summer season is finished and owners are usually very hungry for money and happy to rent for long period of time. Try to see some options here https://tranio.com/spain/ and don't forget that you pay 4-6 months in advance they will give you a good discount ))) So if you can afford it than you will get a much better accommodation and much better deal.
